Gw2 guardian pvp

Guardian is arguably the most well-rounded class in GW2, with an excellent balance between ease of use, DPS, and flexible build options. Basic Guardian gameplay is simple, which makes it easy for new players to use.

This class has the ease of use and durability of a Warrior, with much higher damage. It is also flexible enough to be reconfigured for several different uses, and both of the Elite Specializations are fantastic. This means that a Guardian character will be able to grow with you as a player. As a heavy armor class, the Guardian is quite durable, which is another reason why we recommend this class for new players. When equipped with Soldier gear and six Superior Runes of the Dolyak, Guardian is virtually unkillable.

Although the trade-off in DPS is generally not worth it. Guardian movement speed is less of a problem than it is with the slowest class Warrior but is admittedly still an issue. Mounts make this class much more fun to play, because they let you avoid the frustration of constantly being left behind by other players.

Guardian is the second-best healer in the game. Druid is unquestionably the best, but a Druid is a bit of a one-trick pony. If you want to do more than just healing other players, Guardian is your best option.

We recommend the Snow Crows and MetaBattle Guardian builds, as these are carefully-tested and kept up to date with the current meta. However, the Staff 1 skill has been rebalanced with a much shorter range. Dragonhunter: Gain the use of Longbow, which is an outstanding primary weapon. Dragonhunter traps are also fantastic. Firebrand stability is particularly in demand for WvW.

But I'm going to play with a friend and I wanted to settle with a char in order to do pve and pvp, although it will be mainly sPvP and WvW.

As the title says I can't decide between one.

gw2 guardian pvp

From what I've seen in videos, I enjoyed mostly core guard and dh with bow gameplay from guardian and ranged berserkercore war and Spb from warrior. I would like to have a ranged option but fun at the same time since I've always enjoyed the ranged aspect I know it's kinda silly stating this when I'm talking about warrior since it's a class more melee oriented.

So here I am asking you guys for your opinions more importantly if you play any of those play styles I've stated above.

If you wanna play warrior and be competitive you must own PoF and spellbreaker specialization. Easy to play and strong profession. If you don't have or don't wanna buy PoF you can go core guardian and it's a viable build to rank up, even easier to use than warrior.

If you wanna play support and you buy PoF, the new guardian elite specialization, the firebrand is meta build as well. Guardian with bow dragonhunter is not very viable, especially if you never played it people will flame you for playing it.

If you plan to duo with a friend, support guardian firebrand plus necro scourge is the best duo in the game. Myy friend will be playing engineer or Mesmer not quite sure which spec yet. Firebrand is more like a support from what I've seen and I was looking more to dish out damage. It's sad to hear that one of the specs that I enjoyed watching now dh are not viable What about ranged options for warrior?

Don't know about his survivability tho Rifle warr is a meme spec for trolling, but not really viable in high end PvP.

Nicolette gray net worth 2018

Viable variants are both spellbreaker, either the no defense version Tetherbreaker with very high burst, cc and mobility or the classic one with defense, which is a more sustainy, defensive version.

DH is somewhat on the edge of viability, it's not trash but also not an optimal build, because neither the burst is very high nor is it as survivable as the real bruiser specs. Core guard is generally more effective because of the high burst potential, either with hammer or GS. Do I have more build options has a warrior? Is burst that important? Or a more consistent output in order to keep pressure? Are they fun at least? Obviously you can always play your own builds, just don't expect them to be as effective. Is it just me or guardian seems weak compared to other classes?

I have spent many hours trying guardian, dh and firebrandbut none of them seem decent except bunker FB, I mean damage dealer variant of guardian. I have tried warrior with 0 experience and I was able to deal more damage with it. What do you think?

WvW wise - Firebrand is the only form of guardian that is meta and tends to play more of a supportive role. Dragonhunter seems to be is a no go in either mode.

Leakage current test

Dragonhunter needs serious updating, its been over 2 years since any decent changes have happened. It's become a very predictable and easy to counter.

Guardian Guide

I just hope it gets the love scrapper got recently. The longbow and DH traits need some serious updating or reworking. Especially for the traits a few are either completely useless or in the case of the main build for kinda counter each other. Arena Net need to completely overhaul Dragonhunter, the only useable place for DH is in raids, but how long is that going to last. Due to it's one of the weakest power specs right now.

Core Guardian is still fine in PvP. Compared to before it's more squishy but the damage is still there if you build for it. There's a huge number of things that could be improved though.

Virtue of Resolve is still basically stuck to strength levels. Who knows, maybe improving the passive might make Battle Presence less useless. Dragonhunter hasn't had any major changes since they removed the trap daze. Which was obnoxious and deserved to go but they never did refund that performance loss. Anything since then has been a sidegrade at best.

Are you able to win duel against warrior or any close combat range class? I'm completely in love with guardian, it's my main class but i think some mechanics are outdated compared to other classes.

It's the standard Radiant GS build you find from Metabattle but sure. Not really. But it's not supposed to. It's not a duelist build. There's 3 reasons why Guardians always consider Meditations. They are not situational. They're always useful. When traited, they are the best coherent skill group in the game. The other skills look weak in comparison. That's just your opinion though. I value Guardians GS skills higher than Warriors.

Whirling Wrath is much easier to land than Hundred Blades because of its more forgiving range, and the fact that you can move during it. Hammer was commonly used before the last patch. Kill or be killed playstyle only works till a certain rating and it has many counters, weaknesses. Crumbles to continuing condition pressure as well as focus damage but the damage potential is definitely there - especially when you are able to add into a teamfight. This worked pretty nice to me. Nice condition burning damage and medium survival. Back from the archives, again. As I get older I've found my reaction time is getting worse. I can't play fb, just way too many things going on there.

So I play this build with sword and torch. Trade smite condi for merciful intervention, and sages amulet for more heals. And merciful sanctuary. Still able to also contribute an effective amount of damage. Good all round build. A non-elite guardian, high damage build that can run with the best of them? This is it. The F2P dream. I love this build. Nearly all the games I played I came out on top damage and healing.

The only real trouble are builds that have more range than you and can keep their distance, because this plays mainly at mid-close range due to the weapons. You have some distance closers, but they are limited. This is why I play with Rune of the Lynxs and Smoldering sigils replacing the doom ones.

And of course the other meta builds, but hell, that's what makes them meta builds. If you want a rotation that deals with most Shatter mesmers and possibly a few other builds I'll put it in the comments. Thank you for this build. It feels really dirty, in a good way.

Can't run from it and can't stay toe to toe with it. As a F2P player, this is awesome! Good build, very effective in low tiers. I even was able to win 1v1 average players with Elite specs, but Chronophantasma Shatter is really nightmare. Great build, also, Condi transfer is not a counter, you can easily cleanse those conditions that were transferred back to you. This build can't win a 1v1on it's own, but in a 2v2 I found this build to be very strong, especially if you have another Condi player on your team. The community gave this build a ratingmaking it top-tier: Great.

I run this build in a mix of Marauder and Valkyrie gear with Accuracy sigils which gives me I use Flame Legion runes to stack damage bonuses from burning. Great fun to play, does big damage without feeling so glassy. Amazing burst damage that melts trash mobs and pretty good sustained damage on bosses. Doesn't need a lot of defensive utilities to survive because of the inherent nature of guardian. If you feel you aren't able to survive well on this build it's probably because you're still learning to play it.

This build deals insane AoE burst damage which makes it great for farming. It can also maintain almost permanent AoE blindness when killing trash mobs and has a lot of defensive cooldowns, making it a very solid solo contender.

An good build for open world, with a lot of room for mistakes via Aegis and lots of stunbreaks for those sketchier situations. With Binding Blade and Whirling Wrath, groups of mobs are nothing more than an minor inconvenience as you'll be able to pull them together and burst them all down. Despite the low health of Guardian, it is relatively hard to die with this build, assuming you use your active defense well, and the quick cast time virtues makes them far more reliable than tomes on firebrand or virtues on Dragonhunter.

A PvP greatsword Guardian build which takes advantage of the crit chance buffs of the Radiance specialization to deliver massive bursts.

Great build, has a lot of damage with the combo with skill 2 of the Greatsword, and also has resistance with the virtues, and utility skills that clean up conditions and leave you invuneravel.

I loved the build, I highly recommend it. Still really powerful - if you catch someone off guard they go down within a second or so. Stay away from SB or decent weavers. Lots of fun. The more aggressive version stand your ground instead of contemplation of purity, and zeal instead of virtues works really well if you're below plat as well. Give it a shot.

Been enjoying this build for a long time, actually the first build i played as a guardian and it feels easy to use and powerful if in the right hands. Take sigil of energy on both sets rather than exposure on GS, since it really helps with survivability, and those extra 5 stacks of vuln don't do enough to be worth it imo.

Otherwise, top tier build that outshines most in the current meta due to high burst, decent sustain, and ridiculous amounts of condi removal. No one likes ads, we know that, but this website is made possible by displaying ads.
